My new job

Just thought I would let everyone know that I have finally found a job. After three months of applications to just about everywhere that didn't involve me wearing a funny hat and making food, Someone was finally dumb enough to hire me. I have to pass a background test first before it is official, but as long as they don't find out about that one night, I think I should be fine. I mean, I haven't killed anyone since I was a teenager so I think I'm good. lol. Anyway, just thought I would let you guys know. And on a side note, that girl never did call(referring to the last post) but oh well, that just means that I can't go back to that Ruby Tuesdays. Big loss:)

My Message in a bottle

So this weekend Kyle and I were hanging out cause he was up here from Tuscon. We played some pool and a little chess, but the best part was our time at Ruby Tuesday's. First thing it was slow as hell in there and we really have no idea why. It was Saturday at like 6:30 and Chilis across the street was packed. So we were a little confused by this, but whatever. Anyway we went in and sat down and all that and finally our waitress came up. Not only was this girl drop dead gorgeous, but she was actually really cool too. Every time she came back to check up on us she would chat for a little while. We made fun of her cause her cell phone is a razor, you know...just general chat. Anyway me and Kyle were both in pretty good moods so we decided to mess with her a little bit. We put together like four of the straws that we had so it was a crazy tall straw and I was using to drink my water when she walked up the next time. She just looked at me weird for a second and then started to laugh. The way Kyle and I were acting she probably thought we were drunk...but oh well it was fun. After she dropped off our bill we decided to make a flag and leave a little note for her. So I wrote my name and number on the napkin and then attached it to the huge straw. Then we set it into the jones soda bottle that kyle had and our masterpiece was complete. We left it sit there and then left. Was it dumb....yes, but it was funny as hell and if she calls for some odd reason then thats an extra perk. Honestly I'm expecting a bunch of prank calls, but whatever, its all good.

and for those of you who don't believe I was actually dumb enough to do this. Here is the proof:

Yes...I know I'm an idiot, but I don't care. It was worth it.

My Calling

So it would seem that I have actually found something that I am good at. Like I said before I have had my doubts about my choice of schools and everything, but it all seems to be working out fine now. My latest class, my Audio for gaming class, I did receive another "A" in. Also we didnt have class really on Thursday since we turned our projects in the day before so we had nothing left to do. So during the class the teacher held a small tournament for whoever wanted to come to class that day. I did not go, at least until later, cause he said he would count me present even if I didnt show up. But I had to go in later cause I was going to hang out afterwards with some friends. Anyway when I walked into the classroom the teacher told me something really quite shocking really. He told me that I tied for the best final project not only in my class but in the morning and evening audio classes as well. He said that he showed it to a bunch of other students and teachers and they all thought it was the original sound from the game, but it was actually all sound that I had put in myself. It's kind of nice getting some recognition when I do something well. Honestly I have never really had that in a school before...and it feels good. So thats a quick update for my school life.
The Job front is looking a little better at this point. I have an interview with "Big Dogs" on Monday and possibly an interview with a job at the school the week after. Also I am going to be taking some bartending classes soon so hopefully after that I will be able to get a bartending job somewhere around here. I figured that will be the best way to make money honestly. This city does have a huge University in it so I think that will work just fine. I always wanted to take a bartending class anyway so it should be fun. Well that the job update for you.
Now for the personal life update...I am getting married!!! Ha, just messing with you. I bet a few of you just spit some all over the person next to you if you were drinking something. My parents probably had a heart attack. Doing what I can to stir things up a bit...It's what I do.

On a side note.......Cleveland Browns 4 Life!!!

My Determination

Ok, time for an update people. So get something to eat, grab a drink, and get ready for another one of my ramblings. I’ve had some doubts recently about a lot of the things out here. Every once and a while I think that I am not meant to be doing what I’m going to school for. I lose my motivation every now and again thinking that I might not be good at what I want to do. Then I get to see what the finished product is of the games I will be able to create and all that doubt goes out the window. I really do think that this is what I want to do with my life. I can’t imagine any other profession giving me the satisfaction that being a game designer will. Now that the art class is over and I can move on from that I am really starting to get into the whole school thing again. I have and audio class right now and it is awesome. For our last project we had to take a movie trailer and take away the sound from it and then put in our own music and voices and all of that jazz. Mine turned out really good I think. If I get the chance, I’ll post the before and after of the trailer I did. In a week I start my media arts class…that one should be interesting to say the least. I am going to have to learn like 5 different programs in the 5 weeks that I have the class. The main one being photoshop, which I have actually never messed with before so that should be fun. Hopefully soon I will have a class that will start to put all of the things I’m learning to work on a project of some sort. I’m trying to do extra projects on my own just to get more practice with the programs so I can get to know everything about them. We had a guest speaker come by the school who works for a game company in town and he used to be a student at Collins. He told us the most important thing we need to worry about when we graduate is to have a complete and full portfolio. Which means that I will have to spend every moment I have of free time working on my own individual projects to put into my portfolio. I just hope that I will end up being good enough to impress people with what I can do. Cause I know first hand that having the drive to do something isn’t always enough. In the end it all comes down to skill. I’ll do it though…It is my DESTINY!!! HAHA….I felt the need to add some ooomf to the ending and what better way of doing that than to just add the word destiny. It makes any situation feel epic. On another topic I am going to be taking some bartending classes as well. I figured that I am living in a college town which means lots of bars and restaraunts. So be a bartender in this town should be a pretty good job and it will fit around my schedule so it should work out perfectly. That’s it for now, so go read something else. Until next time...

My Everclear

Ok, update time. Well first thing, I finally got my new laptop from the school after them being delayed for 2 weeks. Now that I have it though, I am starting to learn some cool stuff with the audio program that I got with it. It’s nice to actually get to start doing things that are going to actually help me in the future. Plus it’s just fun to play around with when I’m bored. So yeah, its all around nice having the new laptop, its freakin huge though. It’s got a 17” widescreen and it weighs like 9 pounds…hahaha. If I ever need to lift weights I Just grab the laptop and do some reps with that. It’s funny, I’m too poor to buy actual weights or well…..food for that matter, but I just got a $3,000 laptop. It is a very odd situation I got going on, I guess it works though, at least until I die of starvation I guess. Who needs food when you have a sweet laptop, food is over-rated. Anyway, I have been trying to explore Tempe a little more, trying to get myself out there you know. So the first stop on my exploration was of course Mill Ave. Since you all probably have no idea why Mill Ave. is so important, let me tell you. It is the equivalent to Athens’s Court Street or if you don’t know what court street is about then I will put this very simply. Mill Ave. is where you go to lose brain cells if you catch my drift. Also something I found out is that apparently, Everclear, is perfectly legal to serve here in Arizona. And for those of you who don’t know, which probably wont be anyone cause Im mainly talking to my family and they have to know what Everclear is. They are Winnett’s afterall. But Everclear is practically all alcohol….and it’s awesome. Me and my friend Kyle went to the bars last Saturday and we went to a bar that had a bunch of frozen drinks pre-maid behind the bar, one of which was half everclear and half punch. Didn’t get to try that one, I had to drive later that night so I couldn’t drink much. Most of the others were pretty strong and they tasted freakin delicious. It was kind of sad though since the bar we were in was practically the only one without a cover charge. That pissed me off a little bit, but nothing a little alcohol couldn’t fix. Anyway just thought I’d share that with everyone. Until next time…
